Defect

I have a 2019 Alfa Romeo Stelvio in which my dashboard the leather has completed separated on both sides in which the foam is visible, and the center piece with the small holes and the center ball are located has cracked all around the center piece.I started with the Dodge dealer here in Decatur, which referred me to Huntsville Al., Dodge/Chrysler/Fait gave me an appointment on March 13th at 10:00 am and I would have to leave it for 24-48 hours after arriving I was informed that they could not take care of it, after arriving for my appointment I was told that they no longer work on those Alfa Romeo? I spoke with a agent yesterday at 844-253-****, who told me that there were no recalls listed so it was not a defect and google reviews has no bearing on recalls or complaints.

Well with that being said I am placing a formal complaint of this defect. I also spoke with the warranty company who told me it was not covered to call the manufactuer. In which I do not feel it is my responsibility to pay three(3) to four(4) thousand dollars to replace the dashboard. In which I feel should never have happen to a vehicle of this caliber.I spoke with Alfa Romeo in Birmingham Al., service department who has repaired 2-or 3 vehicles with this problem and the cost is around 3(three) thousand dollars.

I would very much like a responds to this problem please. Thank You So Kindly.

Alfa Romeo - Your vehicle product caught fire - Image 2

My 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia

Caught fire on the way home picking up my baby from childcare. I am very not happy with the product at all.

It was huge major safety risk, for my family, myself. Driving back home the fire has caused a lot of damage under the engine, bay and hood of a vehicle. There was a lot of smoke in the vehicle as well for me and my family to inhale. We got out in the nick of time to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher, I contacted the dealership that sold me the vehicle and I did not want to take responsibility for the vehicle having prior recalls on a car itself.

I was not notified of any and all recalls when I did a routine maintenance check on the vehicle to service the car I found out there was a leak on the turbo and a leak on the coolant when I contacted the dealership Alpha & Omega city cars of Ontario California. They informed me there was no issues on the car they had purchased a vehicle from Alfa Romeo Newport Beach as a lease return. And all the recall parts have been done when we did our investigation from Maserati.& Alfa Romeo of Ontario, California dealership where the car is currently being located at we fear for our safety in this vehicle. I am not happy with his vehicle being it has less miles on it free to have this kind of problem going on Im a consumer that loves products that are long lasting for my family to enjoy.

Thats the purpose of us buying this car if I knew that I was gonna have fire issues. I would never purchase this product as a vehicle.

Issue with timing cover

Original review Aug 24, 2023

Took 2018 (46,000miles ) Stelvio in for routine service. Was told by service manager that I needed to have my timing cover resealed as it was leaking oil cost $3700.00.

Of course I had work done. As I was paying the service manager had expressed that Alfa Romeo has identified and acknowledged this problem but had not done a recall. He proceeded to tell me that even the new alfas were having this problem and that they were doing 2 to 3 per week. Clearly this is an Alfa Romeo defect and should be covered.

Service manager gave me a customer service number to call and I spoke with Beth. She, first of all, wrote the wrong issue down and said something about an oil change. Wasnt sure what she was talking about and had to explain the timing cover again. She said that they cannot reimburse after service had been paid for and that I should have called while my car was still in service- so that means I would be without a vehicle while they decide what they are willing to do?

And second, I wasnt even given the phone number until After I had paid. I had asked to speak to her supervisor and she said nope that there was no one else she would let me talked to. She was very rude. I continued to ask to speak to someone else and she kept saying no.

She said she would extend to me 2 oil changes and that she was going to end the call.

I cant believe that they can get away with this just flat out saying nope. Very frustrating and unprofessional.

Alfa Romeo should be 100 % liable for this situation as they have identified and acknowledge that this is a problem in their vehicles.

My 2018 Stelvio has been in Alfa Romeo Garage over 6wks now.
Here is the thing. Service center personnel told me that my car's Turbo engine has a issue so my car needs to stay in Service Center. I agreed upon it so I left my car on06/28/22. Service center personnel kept telling me that they do not have a part. So it takes time to get in. I don't know what to say it. I still don't have my car. What should I do? I still need to pay over $5,000 at least. How about my life without car!!!

Complaint

I've recently bought a Stelvio in Australia. I love the car - for short and long distance driving - but very annoyed by the warning sound when I lock and unlock the vehicle. It sounds like a cat being trodden on. The service centre I deal with say it can't be deactivated. Perhaps the headquarters in Italy has a way? d.kenihan@***.com

Alfa needs to hear this.

If Alfa wants to sell more vehicles successfully I huge step in apology needs to take place and a strong position of correcting past attitudes towards customers that had genuine problems with their alfas in the past. That a huge amount of energy will be in satisfying after sales to create confidence in a consumer of Alfa. I've had 2...and when I had my Alfa 145 Quadrfoglia it took about 6 months to get the car right from new. My file on the car and comunicating was very thick. So I love the vehicles but I'm not sure I would purchase again....I'm sure none of my friends would to as they know what I went through... So confidence and Appologies are needed world wide for after sales service. Also prices need to be thought out more carefully .

DPF Problem unresolved

Car went in to McCarrols who charged to simply reactivate but the DPF just blocked again. Was recommended to Franks Pitstop who charged $500+ to clean the filter and reactivate but it lasted about 50km and blocked again.

I then ordered a new DPF which was fitted and lasted once again about 50 Kms. Was then advised that they could not figure the problem and was sent away. The car has been deregistered during my Covid induced absence from Australia since 17 March 2020 but I returned last week and wish to revive the car. Is there anybody who can recommend a solution to this issue?

All in all I have spent in excess of $2500 to achieve no positive result.

I contacted Alfa Romeo in Australia, giving them the story as above and was advised to go back to the agents. Not likely without some certainty of resolution!!!

Cannot get DPF to stop blocking

Hi, I have had my 2007 Alfa 159 1.9tdi in at 2 agents shops and neither can repair it. The problem is with the DPF which has now been replaced, but I am still experiencing the same issue and during covid I was absent from Australia and was forced to de register the car. I have spent over $2500 and was simply told by the agent that there is nothing more they can do. This is unsatisfactory after all the cash spent without any hope of recovery from them for a job "not done". Barry Kalkhoven
